UCSF Medical Center has given Dede Wilsey the responsibility to be in charge of the philanthropic efforts in behalf of UCSF Medical Center’s new up-to-date art clinically facility scheduled to be built at Mission Bay. The estimated cost to construct this hospital complex is $1.2 billion, with at least $500 million required from private philanthropy. This new hospital will include: a 183-bed UCSF Children’s Hospital in place of inpatient services at the current childnre’s hospital Located at Parnassus Heights, a 36-bed women’s specialty hospital and a 70-bed cancer hospital in place of inpatient facilities at UCSF Medical Center located in Mount Zion.

The CEO of UCFS Medical Center, Mark Laret, said that he could not imagine or think of a more dedicated and hardworking fundraiser than Dede Wilsey to be a head of this project. He said that because of Dede Wilsey the UCFS is already known as one of the best hospitals in the world and due to constructing the new facilities they will bring their services to a new level. He said their main mission is by constructing a high-tech and state of the art hospital there should be caregivers who provide excellent care and inspiration to patients and their families.
